About Audio Skill Tech INstitute
The Audio Engineering Skill Tech Institute is a professional audio training provider specialising in live sound engineering.
I’m Andrew James Ward (Andy), and I created the Audio Engineering Skill Tech Institute to provide a service for the live events industry.
I aim to serve the live entertainment stage and conference industries by providing sound engineers professionally trained in high-end live sound equipment and conference technology.
I began in recording studios in London in 1993, specialising in music mixing and sound engineering. I became an audio production teacher at Bachelor’s level at a prominent creative media education provider.
I noticed that advanced live sound education requires a specific range of equipment and spaces to learn and practise.
Our courses provide the region’s first fully comprehensive and dedicated live sound training for audio systems engineers and sound engineers.
As part of your education, students taking the apprenticeship package can become audio externs with our industry partners in the live events sector. Our students receive the best hands-on live sound experience in the MENA region.
The company is a registered LLC with the Government of Dubai and has a professional license in technical installation.
Instructors & Industry Professionals
Our instructors are audio practitioners; they operate in the live industry. They are on the pulse of current industry methods and techniques. As well as sharing their knowledge and making sure you know it too, you will learn how to conduct yourself in a professional live environment.
OUR LOCATION
SEVEN STARS EVENTS
Our courses take place in one of the many warehouses of Seven Stars Events. They have 14 years of experience providing high-end and high-quality live sound and light productions throughout the Middle East. We are fortunate to partner with them, and our students benefit from using a full range of audio consoles and gaining access to equipment warehouses and years of experience.
Seven Stars Events is in the heart of Dubai and five minutes walk from Abu Hail Metro. The warehouse is close to cafes.

The teaching style is progressive and centred around practical hands-on experience with a mix of demonstration, facilitation, self-learning, collaboration and group work.

Our courses take place in the warehouse of 7Hertz Pro Audio. They distribute high-end professional audio brands such as DiGiCo and d&b Audiotechnik. We are fortunate to partner with them, and our students benefit from using a full range of audio consoles and gaining access to equipment warehouses and years of experience.
7Hertz is located in Silicon Oasis.

Certification
The advantages of our certificate over a diploma or degree are numerous. Firstly, our curriculum is on the pulse of existing industry practices. Degree courses are, more often than not, many years behind the industry; this is because of the lengthy accreditation process by academics – as opposed to industry practitioners. Secondly, for-profit schools tend to skimp on purchasing the latest audio technology. However, because we partner with companies, our students access literal warehouses full of equipment.
Thirdly, the emphasis of an expensive degree leans toward writing about audio than kinesthetic practise.
